VWAP Close + nPOC Retracement Watch
Context
Weekend ranging set up a clean retracement idea into the VWAP close and nPOC confluence below. The level was marked and the plan was clear, wait for price to come in and look for confirmation to get long.
Setup
Price came into the level and gave an immediate 1.3% bounce reaction. The level worked but being asleep during the move meant the initial entry was missed. The plan shifted to catching a retracement back into the zone with bullish CVD divs as confirmation. Alerts were set and the level was being monitored.
Entry
No trade taken. The retracement came but aggression never showed up. Bullish CVD divs didn't play out. Without confirmation the plan stayed on the sidelines a level working once isn't a reason to force an entry the second time around.
Exit / Management
N/A, discipline meant sitting this one out. The 1.3% reaction validated the level. The follow-through not materialising and the lack of flow confirmation on the retracement were enough reason to pass. Knowing when not to trade is as important as the entries that do get taken.
High Volume Node Ping Pong Long
Context
The entire range was built around multiple High Volume Nodes, the strategy was straightforward: trade them like a ping pong ball from one volume area to the next. This trade came from the third HVN from the top, the next high-probability support level in the sequence. No complex confluence stack needed here. When a market spends weeks trading inside a range, the HVNs become the most important reaction levels repeatedly acting as support and resistance. Volume was the reason. That was enough.
Setup
As price reached the HVN, the flow was emphatic. Massive Open Interest increase on aggregated futures shorts, aggressive shorts entering all the way into support. Strong positive order book imbalance on futures with large bid-side liquidity holding firm. Spot order book imbalance also remained positive while heavy spot market selling was absorbed into the bids. Aggressive short positioning at a major volume level a textbook long setup.
Entry
Long taken from the High Volume Node as absorption and aggressive short positioning confirmed the setup.
Exit / Management
Price reacted exactly as expected with nearly +6% from the entry. Profits taken at each High Volume Node on the way up, fully exited after price cleared the inner highs around 64.7k. Stop placed below the HVN with tight invalidation on loss of the volume support area.
15min Highway Resistance Short (Gold & Silver)
Context
Metals were pushing into highway resistance with the 15min highways stacked above price on both Gold and Silver. The overall bias was to look for shorts from that zone and target the liquidation areas sitting further below on both markets. During the live session a potential second stab at the resistance was discussed.
Setup
The second stab at the resistance came in exactly as anticipated. Both Gold and Silver pushed back into the stacked 15min highway zone, alerts already set from the first test. The setup was identified, discussed publicly, and the level was ready. Execution was taken directly through the terminal when the resistance held.
Entry
Shorts taken on the second tap into the stacked 15min highway resistance across Gold and Silver.
Exit / Management
Silver dropped a clean 5%, first profits taken after 1.9% with the rest running. Gold moved slower with a 2% drop so far. Both positions structured the same way, both entered from the same type of level, different pace of follow-through.
1H OB + AVWAP + VAL Confluence Short (AERO)

Context
A setup spotted while reviewing trades shared by an academy member: a clean short opportunity on AERO. The confluence zone was well-defined: a 1H Order Block with an anchored VWAP pulled from the start of the mini range, and the Value Area Low of that same range all converging in the same area. Price had deviated slightly below the VAL before reclaiming it, the plan was to wait for the backtest of the reclaimed VAL, which aligned perfectly with the 1H OB and AVWAP. Alert set on the zone, execution taken directly through the terminal when price arrived.
Setup
As price retested the confluence zone, the 1H OB held, the AVWAP and VAL rejected, and a small liquidity sweep cleared a wickless 5-minute candle. Order flow wasn't particularly aggressive but a few new longs entering during the backtest provided enough fuel for the short. Sometimes the structure does the heavy lifting.
Entry
Short taken from the confluence zone on the backtest as the 1H OB, AVWAP and reclaimed VAL all held simultaneously. Executed directly through the terminal.
Exit / Management
Price reacted cleanly for around a 2.5% move from entry. First major TP taken after the range low was swept at approximately 1%. Remaining position scaled out gradually as price continued lower. Stop placed above the 1H OB and confluence zone with tight invalidation on loss of the reclaimed VAL and AVWAP resistance.
